This was the outcome when a leading retailer and Wincanton worked together to find a more efficient way to do business. The highly successful backhaul system uses the lorries already on the road delivering to over 100 stores across the country, stopping at key local suppliers to fill up with fresh produce to bring back to the warehouse for distribution later than day. With rising fuel prices and the drive for greener logistics, this cooperation makes sense on every level.
