Tim Cornell has been with HMRC (previously Customs & Excise) for 36 years. The majority of his work has been in the International Trade area.
Tim currently heads the International Trade Development Liaison Officer (ITDLO) team who cover the UK and are also called on to provide assistance in EU Commission and other international projects. This team specialize in internal and external education and business support regarding all future EU Customs developments. He also has strategic command of the UK AEO Safety & Security Group.
His team additionally developed and delivered training for UK Inland Customs staff regarding Assurance of Applicants for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status.
Tim has acted as an EU Commission monitor in other member states to assure consistency of member states` approach to application of Customs AEO law. He also has a role regarding planning and development of training for UK Customs Staff in relation to all other EU Customs “Multi Annual Strategic Plan” developments and the revision of The Customs Code. He speaks at UK and International forums on behalf of HMRC, EU Commission and the World Customs Organisation.
